Even these wonderful PCs that we own, sometimes develops a number of issues.

So, before you collect your problematic computer and push to the nearest service center, go through this article first. Who knows, once you are done with this post, you may realize that maybe your issue wasn’t as serious as you thought after all. So, without any further ado, let’s get straight to it.

There was a Problem Resetting your PC

Problem

This is one of the most common stress that you will get if you have a personal computer based on Windows operating system. This is a message letting it whenever something goes wrong while your system is attempting to boot up normally. In that case, Windows runs The Automatic Repair Wizard in an attempt to fix the issue automatically. Sometimes, like many other Windows tools, The Automatic Repair Wizard fails to fix the problem. And that moment, you will see another message which has something like there was a problem refreshing your Problem PC. No changes were made.

There is a fix to this Problem PC when it involves the use of command prompt. Don’t worry, there are no complicated commands for you to type. We have a solution to Fix There Was a Problem Resetting Your PC in Windows 10. Simply copy paste them from below. But first, you have to follow these simple steps.

  1. Go to settings, update, and security and then click on the recovery option. And under recovery options, you will see an option called advanced startup. Click on it and click restart now.
  2. On in the new window, you have to select the troubleshoot option followed by advanced options and then, command prompt. It is recommended that you select the administrator account.
  3. You will obviously have to provide the credentials for the administrator account that you chose in the above step. I am sure that you know the administrator’s password for your system, right? Anyway, assuming that you have administrative access now, you will have a command prompt window in front of you.
  4. In the Command prompt, you need to copy and paste this commands one after the other. Make sure you hit the enter key after each line.

cd %windir%\system32\config

ren system.001

ren software.001

After this comments have been executed, you cannot close the command prompt window. It will take you to the Windows recovery environment screen where you have to select the continue option to get into the OS. Your system has been rebooted, you should say that the there was a Problem resetting your PC error has been resolved.

The Computer Runs Very Slow

Problem pc

By far the most common issues that we have faced in our everyday lives. We all have at least one family member who is frustrated by a slow computer. It could be you in your family!

One of the most common reasons why a perfectly good computer gets slow over time is because of the storage being filled up. It’s only natural that the local disks that you are made run out of space eventually. So, one of the easiest and the most obvious solution to this problem is to clear out the junk in your trunk.

As weird as that sounded, I meant you need to clear the unwanted and redundant files that are eating away storage from your local drives. There are plenty of software tools that can help you achieve this. I personally recommend CCleaner from Piriform. So a pretty great tool which is like an all in one solution to clear out registry files comma junk files comma application cache and a lot more. Just Google search for it and you will get the download link.

Simply restarting your system and shutting it down for some time and powering it up again can help solve this PC problem as well. A slow computer could also be a sign that you need to upgrade your memory (RAM).

Check if you are currently using the full capacity possible on your system. For example, if the capacity of your PC is 8GB RAM and you currently have 4GB installed, you can add an additional 4GB RAM to bring your PC to its full potential and boost speed and performance in the process.

The Computer Takes A Long Time To Start-Up And Shutdown

Problems

This was the most common PC Problem that I was suffering from for quite a long time before I realize the solution. My computer couldn’t booted up fast and but it would take a long time to Hibernate or shutdown. I later realizes that having many processes running in the background was causing my system to take longer to shut down than usual. If your computer is exhibiting the same kind of issues, taking much longer than normal to boot up and shutdown, it might be the cause of the large number of start-up processes that you have enabled.

To manage start-up processes you have to make use of Microsoft system configuration tool. It’s built into the Windows operating system and it’s pretty cool. It gives you a pretty good level of control over the background services, start-up services, the boot sector priorities and more. To get into the system configuration settings, you just have to type msconfig in the windows search option. Select msconfig.exe from the search results.

Once the system configuration window has been opened up, United navigate to the start-up tab. There, you might be prompted to open the task manager to give a detailed list of the services enabled at start-up. Some services might be natively listed in the system configuration window itself. All you need to do is call tick the options that are from unknown publishers or manufacturers and change the status from enabled to disabled. This will prevent all services from starting up execution in the memory right when the OS starts to boot up. There is even a Start-up impact indicator on the far right which indicates how much the particular service impacts the start-up speed. This shows the start-up impact of the services high or medium.

Once that is done, you can click on the application and then followed by the OK button of the system configuration window. You will be prompted to restart your system for changes to take effects. Get choose to restart now or to restart after you have finished the work that you were doing right now.

Once the system has been restarted, it should not take a very long time to boot up or shutdown anymore because those unnecessarily heavy background services are now shut down.

Razer Blade Stealth (Project Linda) Overview

Revealed at CES 2018, the Razer Blade Stealth dubbed ‘Project Linda’ is an innovative laptop still in the works. This is more of a marriage between two Razer products, a laptop and a phone, with the latter serving as touchpad for former.

Design and Display

If you saw the current Razer Blade Stealth in the market, you already have an idea of how this one looks. You can expect the laptop to feature similar solid build. The current uses CNC aluminium in its construction.

The main talking point on the new Razer Blade Stealth is how it is intended to use the Razer Phone as touchpad. It doesn’t offer regular touchpad you see on laptops. You get a large empty dock instead. Users only need to drop the 5.7-inch device into this space and it sits flush.

Razer says the phone will also serve as a second display. The Blade Stealth’s screen size is still 13.3 inch with Quad HD resolution. Both devices offer displays with high 120Hz refresh rate.

Performance

It doesn’t appear like the Razer Blade Stealth prototype will offer comparable performance to the existing offering. You are essentially getting a Qualcomm Snapdragon powered laptop here.

The Razer Phone features Snapdragon 835 chipset and it is what controls the laptop. This means this Blade Stealth will fall into the same category as the new Lenovo Miix 630.

Its operating system is also that of the phone: Android. Sentio, a company known for producing laptop docks for mobile devices, customised the desktop for a more ‘notebook-ish’ feel.

Other Features

Connectivity features on the Razer Blade Stealth include a USB Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is also plan to include a video output port. It offers 200GB external storage.

A 53.6Wh battery was in charge of power supply on the prototype. This also tops up the Razor Phone that serves as touchpad.

Android community is quite active when it comes to downloading apps and games. Google Play Store is often considered to be the optimal choice for many Android users out there. Google Play Store comes pre-installed on many Android devices (smartphones or tablets) and users need their Gmail account in order to download apps, games, music, books and movies from it. No wonder it is a great platform for download stuff designed for Android devices, but there are many flaws associated with it as well. To overcome those flaws, smart people have switched over to alternate third-party applications. There are many advantages of these third-party app stores over Google Play Store.

Advantages of third-party app stores over Google Play Store-

  • Many of the third-party application stores do not require any registration. All you need to do is to download and install the APK file on your Android smartphone (or tablet) and you are good to go. Unlike Google Play Store that requires device access to the fullest. First of all, it requires you to register using a Gmail account and then it even requires the full device access. Whereas, third-party app markets do not require any of the following.
  • Apps and games are available for free on third-party app markets. Yes, this is again one big problem faced by Google Play Store users. It does not provide apps and games for free (the premium ones). Thus, this problem is rectified by third-party app stores like 9Apps and TutuApp. These APK markets (as they are often referred to) provide each and every app or game (be it premium) for absolutely free.
  • Users are required to enter their personal information like mobile phone number, address details and credit card information on Google Play Store. This is not the case with third-party app markets, like 9Apps. There is no need to enter any credit card information or any personal details here. All you are supposed to do is to download and install the APK file for these third-party app stores and you are free to use them. Just make sure that you have an active internet connection.
  • App stores like 9Apps and TutuApp are considered to be among the best Android app markets in the world right now. You can download the app the latest games and apps for free using these two. Downloading paid Android apps and games is quite easy with 9Apps and TutuApp. All you need to do is to download and install the APK file for either of the two app markets and you can start downloading apps, games, ringtones, videos and much more, for free.

How to download apps and games for free on Android?

First of all, you will have to download any of the popular third-party app markets like – 9Apps, TutuApp, Mobogenie, F-Droid and Uptodown. Once you have downloaded it, you will have to install it. The detailed process on how to install third-party apps or games on Android will be discussed later. Anyway, after you have installed the app market (like 9Appsapk.net.in), do the following steps-

  • Open the app (say, 9Apps). The user interface will be friendly and easy to understand. Unlike other app stores, this one does not require any personal information or registration, so it will take you straight to the homepage. Over there, you will have a list and column for apps and games.
  • You can either select any random app or game from the list provided or can manually search for the required item manually using the search bar. Usually, search bars are provided at the top right of the homepage.
  • When you have found the required app or game, tap on ‘Download APK’ to download its APK file on your device. APK file refers to Android Application Package file. This file has an executable file that gets read by the Android OS and it also requires an Android OS in order to run.
  • Once it gets downloaded, you can install it on your device quite easily using side-loading. Side-loading will be discussed later on.
  • You can also explore the apps and games using markets like 9Apps and TutuApp. There are well-categorized menus and other icons that will help you in searching for the perfect app or game (for free). Download a third-party app market today in order to download paid Android apps and games for free.

How to install APK file?

This process is also termed as side-loading.

  • On your device, go to Settings > Security Settings > Enable Installation from Unknown Sources.
  • Using a file manager app search for the APK file that has been downloaded and taps on it.
  • Tap on Install and the installation will commence. Once the app or game gets installed, you can run it easily.

The Ultimate Guide To Build A Brand Using Social Media

$

It’s 2018 already and social media industry has become bigger than ever. With the leading social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+, the number of active social media users in 2017 reached 2.46 billion. As per Statista, this number will grow at warp speed and surpass 3 billion by 2021, which is equal to one-third of the total population on Earth.

Internet has become accessible to everyone today, and social media is the lovechild of internet. Social media trend won’t end anytime soon, and your business must take advantage of it for several purposes, including social selling, content marketing, customer support, and building your brand.

This ultimate guide will help you build a brand using social media:

1. Identify your objective

This should be the first step towards growing your social media presence— identify your goals and objective. This literally means that before you start posting, you are sure of who your target audience is, and what you are going after.

Make sure to learn how each social media platform works. There are plenty of them, and all of them work in different manner. Also, not everyone uses all the platforms, so ensure what audience you can reach where. For example, LinkedIn is used by professionals only, and Facebook by every common man. Hence, brand awareness is significant for both B2B (business to business) and B2C (business to consumer).

Identifying your objective will help you off to a good start.

2. Interact with audience like a human

Don’t just throw a link of your latest blog on social media and expect people to read it. Show them your other side by getting on there and interacting with the audience.

If they post something similar to your services or any query regarding your products, respond to their posts like a human. It’s not always necessary to talk like a corporate robot, you can use your humor and wit, keeping professionalism in mind. It will make your audience more connected to you, and they will like to read more from you, including the blogs.

For better interaction, you can gain customer insights. A huge amount of data is generated on social media every day, like 455,000 tweets per minute, 46,740 million posts on Instagram every minute.

Using the insights, you can find who your customers are, what they like, and what their feelings are about your products or services.

3. Use social media advertising

Social media ads can help you promote your business and distribute the content. You can choose target options for these ads, so that you reach right audience.

For example, LinkedIn allows you to segment by things like company, location, gender, age, job title, etc. Whereas, Facebook ads give you options to target people based on demographics, interests, behavior, connections, etc.

The advertising can especially be helpful for those who have just started and doesn’t have much followers. The number of followers and likes makes positive impact on the visitor.

4. Link and share your profile

Just like you put icons of social media platforms on your website, the same way, put your website link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. The people who like your posts will find it easier to learn more about your company by visiting website.

Without being spammy, share social media accounts with all the people you know. This will not only help them know that you have presence there, but will also increase Likes and Follows.

5. Effective Bio components

For bio, you have limited space, like 150 characters for Twitter, so approach the bio the way you write a title or headline, making sure to include valuable information everyone should know. You can also use hashtags in Twitter bio, which are searchable.

Profile picture should be relevant to your company. It can either be company logo or product photo. Generally, the best way is to create a company logo with tools like Canva and use it as your profile picture across all of the social media channels. Set the username with name of your company, unless it’s not available.

6. Consistency in topics

Share the images, videos and other content, keeping a strategy in mind to be consistent with the topics. Don’t share random posts. Pick certain topics related to your industry, and post just about them.

7. Generate quality content

Just like you write valuable content in your blogs, the same way, do it on social accounts. Keep the captions short and catchy. Use relevant and trending hashtags and keywords. This will bring more people to your accounts.

8. Consistency in posts

This is one of the most important things in social media branding. You need to be consistent in sharing posts. If you upload one picture a month on Instagram, or one tweet a month, you’ll be forgotten.

Dedicate your time to social media, post regularly (at least twice a week), and be consistent. Last but not the least, you have to keep patience. Your company is not going become a leading brand just within a month. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Alcatel 3 Specs and Price

Alcatel has been busy with its almost confusing 3-series comprising of four smartphones including Alcatel 3, 3C, 3V and 3X. All of these are mid-range and features the new Alcatel face unlock technology. This is not the only thing they have in common has you can also find that premium 18:9 aspect ratio. However, it seems to be relatively inferior to the others spec wise especially in display section.

  • 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera
  • 4G LTE
  • Fingerprint sensor (rear)
  • 3, 000mAh non removable Li-Po battery

Alcatel 3

Design and Display

To be candid, the Alcatel 3 will not wow you in any way and it pretty much looks like an average smartphone. It has round edges and a somewhat bloated look with the camera, flash and fingerprint arranged vertically from up to down in that order followed by Alcatel inscribed at the back.

Nothing is spectacular about the display either, as it features a meagre HD+ LCD screen. In comparison with the better display options available at the moment this is quite low on crisp colour reproduction. That being said, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inches 1440 X 720 pixels display with a pixel density of (293 ppi).

Battery and Camera

You would find just enough battery capacity to last a day in the Alcatel 3 provided usage is kept minimal or not too intensive. This is because you only have a 3, 000mAh battery which might not get through the daily mile in intensive use. Sadly, the smartphone charges using a MicroUSB port, not a Type-C port and does not have the fast charge feature either.

One of the things people do with their smartphones besides surfing the net and social media will be taking pictures or recording videos. The Alcatel 3 has this taken care of with a 13MP rear camera capable of recording 1080p Videos and a 5MP front camera that is also used to face unlock.

Hardware and Software

It has the same in terms of SoC alongside the Alcatel 3X, which does not really have much gusto. Not withstanding, it is still sufficient for a smooth performance on the smartphone, although not as fast as you have in high-end smartphones. In that regard, the Alcatel 3 is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6739 CPU with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU.

Still on the hardware, the smartphone has 2GB internal memory and 16GB of storage space built-in. The storage space is quite small considering the system software will be taking a but out of it already. However, there is support for a MicroSD expansion up to 128GB. Like it’s siblings, it also runs on Android 7.0 from the box.

Top 4 Influencer Marketing Trends to Look for in 2018

If you have not read our guide to influencer marketing, I will advise you to do so before we go on with this series. For those of you that have read it, I am sure there would be some thoughts in your mind as to what you should look forward to.

As is with any form of marketing, things change. It is also not only the job of the marketer to keep up with the trends in the market. If you go that way, chances are that your marketer might be an old-school person and you would not even know. Know what that means? They are earning off you and not really bringing anything worthwhile to the table.

So that you don’t get caught up in that boat, here are the top influencer marketing trends to look forward to this 2018

1 Transparency

With any business model, transparency is key. That is why you will want to make sure your influencer is doing the same thing. The year 2017 was a big one for influencers and that made the marketing industry shine its light on this emerging aspect.

If you don’t want to put your brand at risk, make sure you instruct your influencers to disclose their working relationship with you.

When someone puts up a post, makes a video or sends out a tweet about your product, they should disclose to the audience that they are getting compensated for it. You should not also assume that since you asked the influencer to add a hashtag that says ‘Sponsored’ at the end of their post, they will do it.

Make it a point of duty to confirm these things for yourself. Otherwise, you could be setting up your brand for failure when people pin the blame on your for misleading them

Top 4 Influencer Marketing Trends to Look for in 2018

2 Diversify

Due to the visual nature of the platform, many brands and influencers prefer to use only Instagram. I am not saying that is bad. All I’m saying is, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. True, other platforms might not offer the visual experience that Instagram does.

However, a good influencer will know how to work whichever platform it is that they are on.

After identifying where your target market is, reach out to influencers on various platforms and let them work to help you target them.

3 Relationships

There are tons of influencers out there that can work for you, but that does not mean they should all work for you. You will need to find someone whose service you like and cultivate a long-term relationship with them.

That way, you can get someone that knows the in and out of your brand and has been following all of your marketing campaigns. In the end, you would have gotten a freelance employee with valuable insights on your team.

Otherwise, you would just be jumping from one influencer to another. The new ones would have no idea where you were coming from and just start with what is, to the best of their knowledge, the best place to start for them. For them, not for you or your business

4 Metrics

One of the most important influencer marketing trends you should look out for this year are the metrics behind the whole thing. How much has your business improved since you started using influencers? What is the percentage increase in sales from each platform that you have influencers on? After calculating those, does the output match the effort? Or, in business terms, what is your ROI?

I don’t want you to get into something that harms your business and earnings potential more than improves it. With such metrics, you will be able to know which platforms to pursue more than the others.

You will be making better decisions on which excesses to cut, which markets to tap into and which potentials you haven’t explored yet. In the end, it could even inform you whether or not influencer marketing might not be the way for your business yet.

Those are the top 4 influencer marketing trends you will want to make a note of this year. Keep reaching out to the right people and building your online presence too while you leave influencers to do their work. That way, you could also be a micro-influencer for yourself, and at no extra costs

How to Use Technology to Land Up With a Good Job

The days when employers got an idea of who you are from your CV and interviews are gone. Nowadays, they can quickly find the information they need by simply looking at your Facebook page and decide whether you are the right candidate for their company. Technology changed the whole recruiting process. Now recruiters and job seekers can find each other easier. But do you use the tech benefits when searching for a job? Here are some ideas you should consider.

Technology and recruitment: what has changed

1- Online research: Avoiding unpleasant experience

Job seekers prefer to find some information about the company they are applying. According to the report published by iCIMS, one in three job seekers and 47 percent of millennials preferred to not accept a job offer because the company had negative employer reviews.

Also, when applying to a certain company, people get an idea of the salary they should ask, they know about the questions they’d be asked during an interview and more.

2- LinkedIn – The platform that changed it all

LinkedIn makes it easy for recruiters to find candidates, even the ones that were not looking for a new job. Also, it helps people to stay connected and thus be aware of job openings in the companies where past colleagues and other connections work. The platform also helps to build personal brands which also makes you more visible to recruiters.

3- The new reality: globalization in recruitment

Internet and online communication tools make it possible to hire people from distant places. Technology permits to work remotely which allows having great teams in different cities and even countries. Also, remote work is a real potluck for freelancers and the people whose skills are not in demand where they live.

4- Mobile technologies make the recruitment process quicker

Nowadays, you can find a job by simply using your mobile device. Various job boards and special applications help recruiters and candidates to connect. People apply for jobs quickly and easily. Also, it became rather common to have interviews via Skype. The hiring process became really fast.

So, what can you do to make tech play in your favor? Check out the tips on how to use those modern tendencies to land up with a great job.

5- Be smart when using social media

Modern employers check your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn profiles before making the decision to hire or even contact you. Make sure your profiles look professional and also be careful with everything you post there. Always provide information which can show you in a good light, even if you are not looking for a job now – who knows when you might need a good reputation.

6- Be visible

Use every online networking opportunity – join professional groups in LinkedIn and be active there, share valuable content in social media, comment and ask questions when you see an interesting topic. Also, make sure your contact details look professional – your email address, Skype username should be strict.

7- Use video to apply for jobs

Video CVs and missives are rather new in the job search process. However, this is a great way to present yourself to a recruiter or employer in an original way. At least you will stand out among other candidates.

8- Apply on the go

Create a mobile-friendly PDF version of your CV and apply for job positions using your mobile device once you get alerts from online job boards. Also, make sure your resume is easily accessible so that employers can review it whenever they want. It is as easy as to visit https://yourwriters.net for help with your essay or cover letter.

Ways people are using to get a job are evolving. Of course, you shouldn’t give up on common steps like sending CV and cover letter, going to interviews. However, being smart about using modern technologies give you better chances to be contacted by potential employers and get your dream job at the end.

Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Take Advantage of Influencer Marketing

$
0
0

Right here on this blog, we have looked at a complete guide to influencer marketing and considered what trends to look forward to this 2018. What we have not done, however, is justify our position on the overall subject of influencer marketing.

Of all the types of marketing out there, why use influencer marketing? Why consider it at all? Here’s the why to every question you must have had on the subject.

1. Maintaining Consumer’s Trust

The social media followers of the influencer know them already, either online or offline. If we are to be completely honest with ourselves, nearly all/ all of them would not know you. If you were to have gone to them yourself and promoted your products, chances are they will see it as one of the numerous spams and move on.

Now that you have brought the influencer (someone they know) into the mix, they are psychologically inclined into trusting your brand the more. You need the potential customers to make just one purchase from you.

You, on the other hand, need to make that one sale go just well for them to start believing in you directly, not as a function of the influencer.

In all, the influencer was the bridge through which you not only captured the audience but was able to build their trust around your brand.

2. Eliminates Ad Blockers

So, let’s say you know who your target audience is and you send out an ad to them. A sizeable number of them might have enabled ad blockers on their accounts. That means they don’t get to see the ad, but you still have to pay advertising money anyways.

Let’s bring in an influencer.

Since they are not running any ads but going about sending out content like every other internet user, your target audience’s ad blockers won’t sense any threat. Better use of advertising money, don’t you say?

Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Take Advantage of Influencer Marketing

3. Cost Effectiveness

Speaking of a better use of advertising money, do you know that influencers come inexpensive? Not generally inexpensive, but relatively. The best part is that they convert so well for lesser than you would have spent elsewhere, running other kinds of ads.

Now, this is not a reason to start looking for influencers that will deliver heaven and earth for you on a peanut budget. In the world of business, understand that you will always get what you sow.

Peanuts begets peanuts, or something even worse. If you want to make something pop in your marketing campaign, be ready to pay a fair wage.

4. SEO Boost

An influence worth their salt will know how to stay on top of current events. That is how they constantly create engaging content for your brand that leads to all those conversions.

If you have a close working relationship with them, they could let you in on some raves of the moment, especially in your niche. Know what that means for you? An opportunity to use SEO (based on what they have suggested) to make something happen on your website.

5. Communication

No matter how solid your business plan is, no matter how many millions you spend on marketing and top-level personnel you have, your business won’t go anywhere without effective communication.

Customers see the human side of a brand that communicates and they can easily be emotional towards them. You will have been told in marketing that the right kind of emotions is what you need to put the customer in and they will make purchases from you.

Where influencers come in is that they have been communications for so long, they just can’t get it wrong. They have been doing it with different types of people from various walks of life. Hiring them will put them up as the face of your business. When communication comes up, guess who is there at the other end of the line for you? Exactly – your influencer.

Another reason why you should embrace influencer marketing is that everyone is doing it. This sounds odd since it is not always advisable to do what everyone else is doing just for the sake of it.

However, I think that if Nike (with Ronaldo), Adidas (with Messi) and other top brands like that are doing it, there is no harm in trying too.

Taking selfies on the Oppo R15 is done using the 8MP front camera alongside included effects for a finer you.

Running the show behind the curtain, is a capable MediaTek SoC and one of its latest chipset at that. Featuring a MediaTek Helio P60 processor with eight cores and a Mali-G72 GPU having two cores in control of sorting out graphics.

Attention: These are the 5 Critical Things to Consider Before Buying your Next Smartphone

$
0
0

I’ve reviewed over a hundred smartphones over the last couple of years, and there are different features in each cell phone that weigh more when it comes to deciding whether or not it gets a good review or not.

Here’s the fact: It can be quite demanding purchasing a new smartphone, especially as prices increase beyond $1,000. However, the good thing is that you don’t necessarily need to spend that amount, you just need to know exactly what to look for before making a purchase.

Furthermore, with so many different brands, apps, prices, and features making up the smartphone market today, it can be very easy to end up buying a cell phone that doesn’t accurately serve your needs. However, with our cell phones playing a significant part in our lives, investing in a new and good one is not something to take lightly.

Therefore, to help you navigate and simplify the buying process, we’ve assembled a list of 5 essential factors that you should really consider as you shop around.

1. Mobile Carriers

So you want a new smartphone? Well, you pretty much have a lot of choices. But before you flash out your credit card to buy something online, you should really take the time to search for the best cell phone plans provided by the different mobile providers.

T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T each have something exciting to offer their customers, and will always provide complete packages such as calls, SMS, and data. Who knows, perhaps now is the right time you to really think of changing your current provider – you can even keep your current phone number.

Recommended Reading: HTC Desire 12 Specs and Price

2. Consider Cost

Another thing you need to consider before you start shopping is whether you want a feature phone or a smartphone, as there is a noticeable cost difference between the two. For example, smartphones generally cost more because they function like handheld computer systems, with stable access to the Internet and a variety of built-in and third-party applications.

Feature phones, on the other hand, which are apparently cheaper, are used primarily for making phone calls and sending texts messages. However, there are often some added features such as camera, a few games, calculator, and a basic calendar, but again, the principal function of this type of cell phone is to communicate via calls and texts.

Additionally, not only is it essential to look at upfront costs when deciding on which phone to spend your money on, but you also need to consider the ongoing cost of a service plan. We understand that it’s great to have access to Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, but the cost of carrying a data plan can be enormous, especially if you exceed your plan’s limit.

You also need to remember that you’re investing in a product that should last you for about two years or more, which is usually the length of a standard contract. Although low cost may seem attractive upfront, but two years is indeed a lot of time to be stuck with a product that doesn’t offer the features you really wanted or wasn’t worth the investment entirely. The choice is yours.

3. Consider The Operating system

The two most popular operating systems currently are Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. However, Android is by far the most widely used probably because of its availability on dozens of devices in a variety of designs, and it is also very customizable.

On the other hand, Apple prefers quality over quantity, launching just one or two cell phones per year. Although Apple offers numberless third-party applications, iOS permits minimal customization of its user-interface and configuration options are equally much more limited.

Recommended Reading: Tecno Spark Pro K8 Specs and Price

Furthermore, a third option will be Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS. Users of this OS can integrate popular programs like Outlook and Office, which can give the phone a recognizable feel even if the hardware is entirely new to the user. However, if customization and choice are vital to you, an Android OS will be your best choice.

Comparing Android and Apple’s iOS, the Apple store currently provides just four options: iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+. The Verizon store, on the other hand, offers about 26 different Android models.

4. Internal Memory And Space

Memory Card

Source: MediaTek

When you’re planning to purchase your next smartphone, check the internal memory and RAM, but don’t pay attention to just what it says on the sticker. You want to take a look at how much space the preinstalled apps occupy.

Although you can use a MicroSD card (if you’re getting an Android phone) to expand the storage capacity of your smartphone, keep in mind that a larger internal memory is always much better than using an external card.

Similarly, before you decide on a model with 64 or 128GB of internal memory, consider how much you’ll actually use. For example, will you be using your smartphone as an external hard drive for your computer by saving music, movies, files and heavy applications? If you answered no, you’re probably better off with a 32 GB memory storage.

Recommended Reading: Update to Google Duo paused due to low call volume bug

Interestingly, you can also leverage cloud services to save some space on your smartphone and still always have your files accessible, once you have an internet connection. However, as a general rule of thumb, while considering which smartphones to buy based on memory storage, it is advisable to choose at least 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (although, 32GB is the best compromise, in my opinion).

5. Battery life

Battery

Source: MediaTek

In case you don’t know before, battery life is one of the most critical features to consider when choosing a new smartphone. Do not be deceived, however, a higher number of mAh does not equate to more battery life or a longer battery life cycle. The factors that are used to judge battery life differs and it’s worth being aware them.

For instance, you should already know that screens with a higher resolution take up more energy, while the newest processors improve (optimize) battery life. Then there’s quick charging technology and Doze mode.

However, instead of just looking at tech specifications, the best thing is to always check out reviews and benchmark results in the market to find out how all these factors work when combines in a single device. At the moment, however, 3,000 mAh seems to be the standard, even though there are devices with over 4,000 mAh.

Bonus: Software And Integrated Functions

Smartphone in Hand

Source: Androidpit

Do you need a smartphone that can do entirely everything? Are you among those users who need a:

  • Heart rate monitor
  • Built-in fingerprint sensor
  • UV sensor
  • Face recognition
  • Swiss Army knife
  • Batmobile
  • Etc?

You obviously have an ample of choices here, from the latest popular to mid-range smartphones, you’ll definitely find all the newest hardware innovations.

But do not limit yourself to choose a smartphone based on just the hardware features. You should also activate the display and delve into the software to figure out what hidden features are there and if it offers options that work best for you. Again, do you often share the device with your children or friends? Make sure you have parental control or a guest mode.

Finally, do you like reading eBooks directly on your smartphone? Choose an interface that lets you adjust the hue of the display and that has some anti-strain eye protection. In summary, don’t judge by appearances alone, you want to thoroughly investigate the system before making a decision.

But, students need to be technically proficient in order to handle their online course. There are certain challenges that need to be conquered so that online learning can effectively serve its purpose. Here are 7 most common Tech challenges of online learning that we need to solve.

1. Difficulty in adapting to the virtual environment

Students have a habit of learning in a traditional classroom environment and are accustomed to face-to-face learning. Hence, it might not be very easy for them to settle for the computer-based learning environments. The traditional classrooms are more about passive learning and taking notes while e-Learning requires students to interact actively and participate in the online class. That might involve clicking some options, answering a question, taking homework help or giving a feedback.

Students need time to get used to the study environment, the online content management system and the e-learning methods. The students must be made aware of why they need to shift themselves and why e-learning is favorable for them. More discussions regarding the importance of online learning should be held so that the students can easily accept this change.

2. Low computer literacy among the students

Basic computer literacy is a must for online learning. You should be able to handle all your files, study resources, and assignments digitally. Students who don’t know how to use the basic computer programs might face difficulties in managing their online study material. Online learning requires continuous interaction with digital devices such as computers, smartphones or tablets and other peripheral devices such as a modem, adaptors, printers, scanners, microphones, or routers. Hence, students should be aware of how to use them.

3. Dependency on the Internet and Technology

The students should know how to use the internet and how to connect to a network. E-Learning courses most of the times come with technical requirements such as the browser compatibility, system requirements, strong internet connection and high bandwidth. A student who does not have access to such requirements cannot access online learning effectively. Hence, there is a need to have a computer, internet connection and a little technical knowledge so that the students can troubleshoot the problems that occur.

4. An absence of support and offline learning

An absence of technical support from the e-Learning provider’s side can cause a lot of trouble to the students. It may lead to delay their progress in the course. Hence, a continuous tech support must be ensured to the students so that they can get solutions immediately. It might not be possible every time for the students to go online and excess the study materials. The providers should offer downloadable study material and assignment help so that the students can study offline also.

5. Extensive coordination is required in e-learning

Sometimes topics demand face-to-face discussions and interactions. It might not always be possible that the pre-recorded instructions of an online course are clear enough for every student such as in case of essay assignment help. Students who face difficulties in such a scenario may have to send the queries additionally to the instructors and then have to wait for them to understand the query and answer appropriately. Students may find it hard to communicate with each other as well. If the students are required to work in groups, coordinating with everybody online might not appear as easy as working together in college classrooms.

6. Everything cannot be taught on the internet

Not all degrees can be transformed into online courses. Subjects which require lab experiments and hands-on experience might not be taught as efficiently to the students via an online course. However, there are possibilities for simulating a laboratory on the internet but it may not happen in every case. Another possibility is the introduction of the concept of hybrid learning. In hybrid learning, students get to experience the best of both the worlds as students spend some time in online learning and the remaining time in the traditional classroom learning.

7. The complex structure of the course

The course structure plays a crucial role in the success of an online course. Unclear instructions, less interactive elements and complex navigation of the course me result in lost interest of the students. Students might find it difficult to get engaged in such a course that includes a continuous reading of the text from a document and a content that has no real-life applications to show. Hence, the content providers should focus on creating online courses that have well-defined structures and cover all the aspects of e-Learning such as interactive elements, assessments exercises, feedback facilities, live chat features and clear instructions.

In the end, yes there are certain challenges that students might have to deal with while learning online. But a change in attitude, expectations and a little technical knowledge can help them achieve an online degree or certification. In fact, everyone can succeed in online learning if they adapt better study habits and self-discipline. How are you solving your e-Learning challenges?
