Delays associated with printer problems can be annoying when the equipment doesn’t work properly. But the manufacturers have made sure the problems can be resolved. Here are the top five problems that every printer tends to encounter and their solutions as well to tackle the issue effectively.

1. Slow Printing

One of the most annoying thing with printers is the time it takes to print. Slow time print can be a result of high resolution setting, choice of drivers or a memory issue. Nevertheless, it can be resolved as well.

If you do not want a high quality print, then a normal or standard mode can be selected. If you want to process large images then consider adding memory to keep the printer working in a quick manner.

2. Paper Jams

Paper jams can be another problematic thing. Even if you have encountered the problem of slow printing, paper jam is an issue that comes often. However, in order to resolve this concern, inspect the paper path and remove all the jammed material. Take out the stuck paper straight without tearing it.

A misaligned paper can cause jam as well. To resolve this issue, remove the tray and position the paper correctly. Also ensure that type of paper is supported by your printer.

3. Bad looking Prints

Even if the printer is operating perfectly, the final product may sometimes look terrible. Poor quality of image may make the appearance unprofessional and sloppy.

In order to make the printing quality better, follow one of the steps below:

  • Make sure print driver have correct paper or media selected.
  • Check whether toner cartridges and fuser is in order.
  • In order to eliminate smudge marks, print few blank sheets and it will eventually fade away.

4. Printer doesn’t Print

When the printer doesn’t print at all, then check whether the print job is sent to the right printer. Also make sure there is enough paper in the tray. The printer must be on and all the cables must be securely placed. The right drivers must be installed as well. However, the easiest solution to this problem is by restarting the printer and software application. Also try rebooting the computer.

5. Outdated Technology

This is an issue that comes at some point in time. The printer might be good to you for a long time but the problems would start later. Every printer has a certain lifetime. Accept the fact and consider it as an outdated technology. Get ready for a replacement and consider a new printer. Given that there is a wide variety of printers available in the market, you can choose the one that meets your needs and preferences.

Best Android Phones Under $100

These days, the midrange market is the one where all the action is happening. It is where all the phone manufacturers are showing how they can offer the best specs that have been shaved off her top-of-the-line offerings for just a few bucks.

If you are looking to get the best value for your money, we bring you the OEMs that have perfected the art of making something very desirable for almost a steal.

In other words, here are the best android phones under $100 that will get the job done for you.

1 Leagoo KIICA Power

Leagoo KIICA Power

Leagoo has been making a lot of waves in the local market of late, and we believe the deserve all the attention they are getting. One of their offerings is the 5.0-inch KIICA Power which lives up to its name and brings a massive 4000mAh battery on board.

In addition to that, the smartphone is also equipped with a quad-core MTK chipset that promises to clock as much as 1.3GHz on maximum use. On the back of this device is a fingerprint sensor, but that is not the most interesting thing there.

Apparently, Leagoo decided to make the market happy with the addition of a dual camera setup – one rated at 5MP and the other sitting on an 8MP sensor.

The front camera has a 5MP snapper in place for selfies and video calling. With an internal storage space of 16GB and a CPU memory of 2GB, there’s rarely anything left to ask of this unit.

2 Redmi Note 5A

Redmi Note 5A

Xiaomi has been a while in the market already so we are not surprised by how efficient the Redmi Note 5A is.

You would think so too if you were to consider the marriage of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset to the quad-core processor with a frequency of 1.4GHz that has an Adreno 308 GPU to itself. The rundown of great specs is continued with the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM offering which would then be powered by a decent 3500mAh screen.

Carrying a decent 5.5-inch HD screen, the dual-SIM smartphone also has the capacity to use the 5MP front camera for facial recognition too. Speaking of sensors, the 13MP unit on the back rounds up the pairing. Running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, it is worthy of note that the smartphone comes 4G ready.

3 Ulefone S8 Pro

Ulefone S8 Pro

Ulefone S8 Pro starts the rundown with the 5.3 HD inch screen in the front and metal casing on the back. Under the hood can be found such configurations as 2GB RAM on 16GB ROM, support for dual SIMs and a 4G-ready configuration out of the box.

The device then goes on to sport a quad-core processor that clocks at no less than 1.3GHz. The meta build on the back has cut-outs for the 13MP camera sensor, a fingerprint scanner system and also, a LED flash to aid capturing in low light situations.

The front has the traditional cut-outs for ambient light sensor plus a 5MP camera unit. Running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, Ulefone’s offering brings a decent 3000mAh battery to keep the electrical juices flowing

4 Cubot R9

Cubot R9

The 5-inch Cubot R9 takes the traditional midrange way of offering 2GB RAM with internal memory of 16GB. The back, finished with a metal material to give that premium build, then houses a fingerprint sensor and decent 13MP camera.

In low light situations, the camera on the back comes with a dedicated flashlight. For selfie and video calling purposes, users will have to make do with the single 5MP snapper up front.

Diving further into the device, it is revealed that the R9 gains its processing power from a quad-core 1.3Ghz chipset, runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and takes its power from the 2600mAh battery.

Considering the irregular power supply in Nigeria and most other African countries, the battery might be the only issue we have with this unit

5 Ouikitel C8

Ouikitel C8

Ouikitel C8 was made to capture the markets that have started tending towards the new fad – bezel-less screen technology. The 5.5 inch of glass on the front is nearly without bezels, giving way to just the lower bezels and allowing a space for both the 5MP front shooter and ambient light sensor only.

The screen does one more by offering HD resolution and the latest 18:9 aspect ratio.

As if all these are not impressive enough, the same smartphone goes on to bring irresistible specs such as an octa-core processor that clocks up to 1.5GHz, 2GB of CPU memory and 16GB available to the user.

Finally, the Android 7.0 Nougat-powered device will draw its power from a 3000mAh battery and pack a fingerprint sensor. Lest we forget, the 13MP camera on the back is just stunning. With its LED flash, you never have to worry about taking good images in dark spaces anymore

6 Redmi 4A

Redmi 4A

Another offering to make this list from Xiaomi is the Redmi 4A. Here, we have such specs as 2GB RAM and a massive 32GB internal storage space, all under the rather small 5.0-inch HD screen. The chipset of choice is a quad-core Snapdragon 425 that clocks up to 1.4GHz and uses an Adreno 308 processor for graphics rendering.

The camera on the back is a 13MP sensor with five elements in the lens. Coupled with a LED flash for better capturing in dark spaces, you also get to use HDR, Panorama and Burst capturing modes among others. On the front is a 5MP sensor that will handle your selfie and video calling needs the right way.

Finally, the only downside we recorded on this unit is its rather outdated Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Of course, Xiaomi makes up for that with a rather generous 3120mAh battery.

6 Tricks & Tips for Writing Highly Effective Push Notifications

$
0
0

Push notifications are rapidly becoming one of the most increasingly-implemented forms of marketing and promotion for businesses in all industries. A push notification is that little alert that pops up on your phone as part of your app, making its way to the home screen of a device.

Perhaps the notification is on your website after a user has accepted push notifications in their browser, allowing you to send through notifications and updates right to your user’s desktop. But you want to make sure that you’re giving your user’s what they want by making sure your content is perfect.

And here’s everything you need to do just that;

Focus on Your Objective

The first, and most important, aspect you’ll want to consider, even before you start writing, is the purpose of your push notification. You’ll need to have this clear in your mind before every single post that you write so you can make sure that your alert is focused and concise.

There’s nothing worse than a user receiving a pointless notification that’s confusing, misleading, or doesn’t have a goal. This will simply put your users off reading your notifications, and they’ll unfollow, meaning you’ll have missed your promotional opportunity.

Consider Your Timing

Not only is the actual content of your notifications vital, but the timing in which you send them is a crucial consideration. Of course, there are no set timings to abide by since it will be different for every industry and business for a tonne of variables. However, the best way to figure it out is through trial and error.

Consider when people are going to be on their devices in relation to the type of product or business that you work for. If you want to get really creative, try and tie your notifications into the time of day that you’ll be posting.

For example, if you market for a phone game, you could try sending a wake-up push notifications in the mornings for your users to start their day. Don’t forget to professionally proofread your notification content using tools like Academadvisor or Paperfellows.

Write Perfectly Formed Content

When it comes to writing and finalising your notification content, it’s essential that you remember that quality matters, even if you’re only sending a little bit of text content. Due to the fact that push notifications will be under 100-odd words (which you can monitor using tools like Essayroo), any mistakes in your content will stand out like a sore thumb.

Make sure that you’re checking and proofreading your notifications before sending them out. This means checking for spelling mistakes, typos, poor grammar, and misplaced punctuation. You can make this proofreading process easily by using tools like Boomessays or State of writing.

Implement Emotion

When it comes to notifications, you only typically have a small amount of room to work with, so you’ll need to make it count. As you should already know, you need to include emotion into your content, so your readers connect with it in the most effective and successful way possible.

You can do this in a variety of ways. Most importantly, you need to make sure that you’re honest. Customers respect honesty and transparency, so this is the best approach. However, on top of this, there are many methods you could consider.

You could try being funny, informative, helpful, memorable, inspirational, or however, you best think matches the branding and personality of your business or organisation. Tools like Assignment help or Citeitin are great ways to help you employ emotion and choose what tone of voice you’re going to use.

The best way to tackle this is to research your customers before you start a notification campaign, so you can give them what they want.

Always Put the Reader First

At the end of the day, your reader’s experience is the most important consideration that you need to take into account. This relates to the content of the notification itself, the times you’re posting and everything in between.

Every time you plan on sending out a post, read it through and get a second opinion, make sure that you’re communicating the message that you want to communicate in an easily digestible format that won’t annoy or confuse your readers.

Remain Consistent

As we’ve mentioned above, it’s critical that you remain consistent when you choose the style and tone of voice of your push notifications. Not only should they align with each other, so the user isn’t confused when they receive a notification from you, they should also align with your business branding.

“This can be difficult to pull off, since you may have little space to play with, but there’s a couple of things you can remember. Firstly, check elements like your emoji usage. If you don’t use them, don’t start throwing loads in to grab their attention. Whatever tone of voice you’ve chosen, make sure that always stays the same, or slowly change and alter it over time” – explains Marianne Thompson, a Digital Marketer at Ukwritings and Huffingtonpost writer.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are several things you’ll need to remember and focus on when it comes to writing and posting your push notifications. When used effectively, push notifications are a highly effective method of increasing the traffic to your website, engaging your customers and providing an even better experience to your users.

Best Android Phones under $200

If you are in the market for a new smartphone and you’ve got some $200 to spare, here are the best android phones under $200 that you should absolutely take a look at

1. Xiaomi Mi 5X

Xiaomi Mi 5X

The 5.5-inch display on the Xiaomi Mi 5X was made even more desirable with its resolutions that are set at 1080 x 1920 pixels. The device then goes on to offer such amazing specs as the pairing of a massive 4GB RAM to an even more impressive storage space of 64GB.

That is already asking too much of a budget smartphone, yet we get Android 7 Nougat, a 13MP sensor on the back and 5M snapper on the front to boot. Of course, the rear camera sensor has a LED flash to better capturing of images in low light situations.

Going under the hood for a little bit of adventure, we find out that the Mi 5X makes use of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. If that will mean anything, it is that we get great power savings on the fairly impressive battery.

Coming in three colour options of Rose Gold, Gold and Black, we don’t like the fact that there is no fingerprint sensor anywhere on this device.

2. Cubot X18

Cubot X18

The Cubot X18 is that smartphone that ships with a 5.7-inch screen which has been blessed with 1440 x 720 pixels to give a very clear viewing. Under the hood is a very decent 3GB RAM which works in tandem with a quad-core processor billed to give 1.5GHz in clock speed.

Asides the beautiful screen in front, there is also a large 8MP sensor for selfie and video calling needs. On the back is a metal finish. The metal has cut-outs for a fingerprint sensor, a LED flash and also, a 13MP sensor.

What we might not have mentioned is that Cubot X18 supports dual SIM technology, runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and draws power from its non-removable 3200mSh battery

3. Homtom S9 Plus

Homtom S9 Plus

Although not a buzzing name in the market as of the time of writing, the Homtom S9 Plus deserves more credit than it is getting. Here, we have a device that sees engineering at its premium on a midrange unit – pairing glass on the front to a glossy metal finish on the back.

Going under the beautiful surface, it can be confirmed that the smartphone gives the user as much as 64GB of internal storage space which can then be expanded up to 128GB. Likewise, the CPU is not left out of the big party since it has 4GB RAM.

Under the 5.99-inch screen which supports as much as three fingers at once are the quad-core 1.5GHz processor and Android 7.0 Nougat at the helm of operations. The back of the unit is quite interesting, not just because of the glossy metal finish, but the introduction of dual camera units.

The sensors measure 16MP and 5MP respectively. Another feature that is worth noting on the back is the fingerprint sensor for added security.

Single camera design was retained for the front though, using a 13MP sensor. Overall, the S9 Plus will keep its lights on with the aid of a big 4050mAh battery.

4. Vernee Mix 2

Vernee Mix 2

With 6.0 inch of screen, the Vernee Mix 2 is still nearly bezel-less. In fact, it takes the design of smartphones with bezel-less technology up a notch. We say all these while keeping other impressive specs of the screen – 18:9 aspect ratio and an impressive 2160 x 1080 – in mind.

On the same front with the screen can be found the device’s powerful 5MP snapper. Looking under the hood, there is the promise of a 4GB RAM that is combined with a large 64GB internal storage space. Even at that, the OEM will allow you expand the space up to 128GB.

A feat of manufacturing and design that was attained in the Mix 2 is the placement of the fingerprint sensor. Shunning the front and back, the device has its own on the side instead. This sensor promises to unlock your smartphone in as little as 0.2 seconds.

With Android 7.0 Nougat at the helm of affairs, the 4200mAh battery will be enough to keep the device alive for longer in between charges.

5. Ouikitel K10000 Pro

Ouikitel K10000 Pro

Ouikitel is known for their approach to smartphone batteries, so we should probably start by telling you that the Oukitel K10000 Pro is powered by a 10,000mAh battery. Even the heaviest smartphone users will find it hard to drain this unit easily.

Now that we have that out of the way, the device still has some other specs worthy of note. Starting from the 5.5-inch screen and Android 7.0 at the heart of the operation, the smartphone operates with a 1920 x 1080 HD screen.

Processing is done with the aid of an octa-core processor, having 3GB of RAM space and clocking at 1.5GHz. On top of that, there is an internal storage space of 32GB to keep your files in.

The device makes use of a standby dual SIM system which gives way for a dedicated microSD card slot should you want to expand the available storage space.

Featuring a fingerprint sensor on the back, this biometric feature is kept company by a 13MP snapper with its own LED flash. The front, however, makes do with 5MP.

With support for multiple languages, the K10000 Pro ships with support for 4G network bands

6. LeEco Le 3 Pro Elite

LeEco Le 3 Pro Elite

It is far from the bezel-less unit we would have loved to see, but the 5.5-inch screen on this Le 3 Pro Elite unit does get the job done. Its 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution works in at around 401 pixels per inches to ensure one of the best viewing experiences.

Supporting diverse network bands, we are especially impressed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset which this unit has at the heart of affairs. That is in addition to its 4GB CPU and 32GB internal storage space configuration. Should the latter not get the job done for you, there is an option to expand it via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Featuring a metallic body, the Le 3 Pro Elite also pairs a fingerprint sensor with the 16MP camera available on the back of the smartphone. Selfie users were shown some love too, getting as much as 8MP to themselves.

Using a Type-C USB connector, the Le 3 Pro Elie will run on an adapted version of Android Marshmallow 6.0 and use a 4070mAh battery supported by Qualcomm’s fast charging technology.

7. Xiaomi Mi A1

Xiaomi Mi A1

Another one from Xiaomi is their Mi A1 offering which packs a 5.5-inch screen designed with 1920 x 1080 p resolution for a clear viewing experience. The bezels are not reduced in any way with the top ones being the house of the phone’s 5MP camera.

Beneath all that screen is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset which promises to optimise the 3080mAh battery rather effectively. If we must say, a clock speed of 2.0GHz is not something you see every day.

This device then goes on to offer a configuration of 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage space. A 64GB offering would have been ideal but all that is taken care of with the inclusion of a microSD card slot.

You will find it appealing that the back of this device is where a fingerprint sensor, dual cameras with 12MP sensors each and a LED flash is. Additional security is provided in the form of a facial recognition unlocking tool that makes use of the 5MP snapper up front.

Billed to run the latest version of the Nougat (Android 7.1) out of the box, we have a 4G-compatible offering in this unit.

That is our list of best Android phones under $200. Hope you found it useful? Have your own list? Please do share as a comment.

Increase Productivity on Mac with HazeOver

Imagine the following situation. You enrolled for a Degree as an aspiring university student, and a lot of your work had turned to be continuously connected to the Mac computer. There seemed to be always a bunch of stuff you needed to do while at home, but it was only impossible to focus on one thing at the time; all of the background windows just kept distracting you. As a result, you got a bad grade on your exam, which has had some negative consequences to follow.

Such disappointments could be contributed to a thing as simple as the reduction of the concentration and resulted in the rapid depreciation in the overall productivity. But wait; was there any chance to prevent such a situation from happening? Of course, there was one, and it lies in using the HazeOver, a service that manually highlights the front window on Mac, while simultaneously making all of the background windows fade away. Thus, it’s vital to realize the shaping nature of such a service and thoroughly discuss its advantages and means of using. In the end, it’s going to undoubtedly help any user to focus on the active app during the work on Mac.

What is HazeOver App

The HazeOver app in itself is a great tool that can be downloaded here and used for the various purposes. As can be seen by the example of the university student, the lack of focus is risky, which is why the functionality of the service could help to stop such a scenario from happening. The service itself is unparalleled to others with its user-friendliness as the creators seem to consider the user experience to be as crucial as the intended use itself. Besides, it’s fair to claim that provides the most accurate exposure and regularly offers updates so that the app keeps functioning even more flawless than it ultimately was before. Perhaps, such a function of the service could be contributed to the team of developers, but, first, it’s important to realize about all of the practical applications of the service.

How to use HazeOver

The question becomes apparent, how to focus on the active app during the work on Mac? All is simple with the help of HazeOver. First of all, the app needs to be installed directly from the AppStore. So, what happens is the top app that’s opened by the user stays in focus, while the background windows (ironically) get hazed over and have a darker shade to them. Basically, such a trick reduces the distraction that would take away from the app running on top, which is usually the essential window that’s opened by the user. As can be suggested by the reader, the moment you click on the window that’s being faded away, it becomes the active one, while simultaneously darkening the previous window of the matter. Indeed, the task becomes incredibly easy with the help of the HazeOver as it doesn’t indeed take much time to figure out how to use the app, even for the most inexperienced users of the World Wide Web.

Why use HazeOver?

More should be said about the purpose of the service and why it has come to exist. In simple terms, HazeOver just makes it, so you can easily focus on the app that you’re looking at, or that you’re currently working with. When you have a whole bunch of apps running on screen at the same time, those apps can take the majority of your concentration away from the task in hand, so that is what HazeOver tries to do ultimately.

The app itself interestingly enough has its preferences that can be configured by the user. Anyone, for example, can change the amount of dim pretty much all the way down or all the way up. Furthermore, there is a way to open HazeOver while at login and show its status at Mac’s menu bar. In the advanced section, there is a way to toggle the shortcut for the fast opening of the application, as well as the customized highlight options; it allows for either highlighting the active window only or for the front windows of the active apps. There is also an available animation option, which, basically, allows you to change the duration of the animation for the HazeOver effect. All of these options are certainly great for all those working during the night and of the need to spend less time managing all of the annoying windows that keep popping up all of the time.

Who is it designed for?

For anyone who uses Mac for a long amount of time, HazeOver seems to be a great option as it offers an unparalleled opportunity to focus on the active app instead of distracting yourself with a multitude of windows that steal all of your attention away. This has been the ideology that guided the project under the clear mentorship of the team of professionals of the IT area.

Every time a person complains about the lack of concentration during the continuous work with Mac, there is a need to realize that the solution is out there waiting for you to grab it with your bare hands. After all, it’s exclusively up to you to decide whether you desire to continue the mess of distraction or stay fully focused for the duration of your studies or work with the Mac computer. One better makes a right decision in favor of HazeOver.

We have looked at the best android phones under $100 and considered some great options you can get for $200 or below. If you are going for something a little bit more in the upper midrange market, you might want to consider the best android phones under $300 for that. Let’s get right into it, shall we?

You may also be interested in:

1. UmDigi S2 Pro

UmDigi S2 Pro

UmDigi launched the S2 Pro for a market that would be pleased with a massive 6.0-inch screen and even more massive specs on the inside. The UmiDigi S2 Pro is made with a Helio P25 chipset running on eight different cores and clocking no less than 2.6GHz.

The same smartphone goes on to feature an impressive 16MP snapper on the front for selfie and video calling needs while the back is home to a dual camera setup – one at 13MP and the other rocking a 5MP sensor.

While we would have loved to see a fingerprint sensor, the smartphone impresses in its offering of Android 7 Nougat on a configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. We don’t even mind if there won’t be a microSD card slot on board for possible expansions, but there is.

Powered by a massive 5100mAh battery, the device makes use of dual SIMs to keep your multiple modules in the same unit

2. Huawei P9 Lite

Huawei P9 Lite

We don’t get dual cameras on this phone and we also don’t get any biometric security features. Running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, the Huawei P9 Lite has 3GB RAM on a rather small 16GB of internal memory. If you feel the same way, you are welcome to take advantage of the microSD card slot on board.

To round it all off, the P9 Lite will be powered by a decent 3000mAh battery

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 (a.k.a. Galaxy J7 Prime 2018) Specs and Price

Recently released into the budget category is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. Although not as loud as the launch of their flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, the smartphone has been released into the India market. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 is very much like its predecessor with only slight improvements both in the camera and hardware section. Dive in as we take a look at Samsung’s latest mid-range offering.

Where to Buy Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2

Jumia Nigeria – See Offers | Jumia Kenya – See Offers | Jumia Ghana – See Offers

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 Key Specs and Features

  • 5.5-inch, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1920 X 1080 pixels (401 ppi)
  • Octa-core Samsung Exynos 7870  CPU with 3GB RAM
  • 32GB built-in storage, up to 256GB with a memory card
  • 13MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera
  • 4G LTE
  • Fingerprint sensor (rear)
  • 3, 300mAh non removable Li-Po battery

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2

Design and Display

Staring at the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 you will see a close semblance to the previous smartphone besides having more reduced bezels by the way. The smartphone is covered by aluminium at the rear with plastic at the edges. Covering the screen is an unspecified Corning Gorilla Glass with a fingerprint sensor in between two navigation touch buttons at the bottom of the screen.

On to the display, the South Korean OEM keeps things simple with only an FHD IPS panel to come up with on the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2. It has an average size of 5.5-inch as seen in most smartphones with a resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. This leaves the pixel density at 401 pixels and with a decent view angle too.

Battery and Camera

Regarding the battery, you have a little above average which according to Samsung delivers 21 hours talk time. This means daily life span totally depends on usage, a fairly intensive usage will leave the battery unable to work the daily mile. Sadly, it also lacks quick charge leaving you to charge for about 2 hours before full charge.

A slight improvement has been made to the camera compared to its predecessor. The new Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 now offers the same camera set up on both sides. Meaning, you have a 13MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera both having an f/1.9 aperture.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the smartphone is run by Samsung’s own chipset which is somewhat of low grade. The smartphone features an Octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with a frequency of 1.6GHz alongside a Mali-T830 GPU in charge of graphics munching.

In addition, there is a 3GB internal memory space for multitasking and smooth operations on the smartphone. This is accompanied by a 32GB built-in storage, which is not much but can be expanded to a staggering 256GB using a memory card in stead of the second sim. It also runs Android 7.1 Nougat with Samsung Experience UI on top.

Best Android Phones Under #60,000 in Nigeria 2018

$

For a list of the best android phones under 60,000 naira, you are at the right place.

1 Infinix Note 4

Leagoo S8

The Infinix Note 4 was the company’s improvement over their Note 3 series from the previous year. Even though a lot of punters argue that this phone was a drab over its predecessor, it still manages to impress.

The first on the spec list is a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen and a back panel that is made out of plastic. In a time when premium devices were getting the metal treatment, that is a drawback. Under the hood, we have an octa-core 1.3GHz processor with 3GB of RAM on an internal storage space of 32GB.

On the back of the smartphone is a 13MP sensor with single LED flash. On the front, we have a home button which also doubles as the fingerprint sensor and an 8MP sensor to match. Powered by a non-removable 4300mAh battery, the device comes with Android 7 Nougat which can be improved to Android 8 should the user want that

2 Ouikitel K5000

Ouikitel K5000

Another 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels comes with the Ouikitel K5000, ensuring a crisp display on the unit. It is also powered by an octa-core processor which can reach a clock speed of 1.5GHz. When it comes to CPU memory, a 4GB configuration blows everyone else out of the water.

That is then aptly complemented by a massive 64GB internal memory space. Also powered by Android 7.0 Nougat, the back of the device sees a single camera rated at 16MP while selfie users are treated to a big 13MP sensor.

Delving further under the hood, we have a 5000mAh to keep the lights on for this dual SIM unit. Sadly, fingerprint support does not come with the smartphone neither does it make use of any other biometric sensor.

3 Tecno Camon CX

Tecno Camon CX

Continuing the camera-centric smartphone launch from Tecno is the Camon CX. The first point worthy of note on this unit are the impressive cameras – 16MP on the front and another 16MP sensor out back, both coming with their own flashlights.

Asides that, the 5.5-inch FHD unit still impresses in a variety of other sections, some of such being the offering of an octa-core processor that clocks at 1.5GHz, marrying of 2GB RAM to 16GB ROM and the addition of a fingerprint sensor for added security. Running on the Nougat, this device will be powered by a 3200mAh battery and support the use of dual SIMs.

4 Gionee X1s

Gionee X1s

When Gionee launches a unit, they usually go all out. That is the same kind of engineering resilience that they have demonstrated in the Gionee X1s which has such reports as a 5.2-inch screen, 3GB RAM and an octa-core processor that clocks up to 1.5GHz on its spec sheet.

The only thing we were not impressed with was the decision to go with 16GB ROM. However, that won’t be a major issue since the user can choose to expand this (up to 256GB) by the use of a dedicated microSD card slot.

Gionee X1s focuses more on the selfie camera than the back snapper, providing a bigger 16MP on the front as compared to 13MP on the back. While both will handle camera and video functions well, Android Nougat 7.0 is thrown at the heart of affairs. Of course, that has been adapted to the company’s own skin to run as Amigo OS instead. We don’t get a fingerprint sensor, but we do get a massive 4000mAh battery to keep the lights on.

5 Leagoo S8

Leagoo S8

Leagoo S8 has been the buzzing smartphone on e-commerce websites and stores for a while now and that is not without reason. Made to be the competition of the Samsung Galaxy S8 (a tall challenge, we must say), the Leagoo S8 impresses with such specs as a 5.7-inch screen developed on the latest 18:9 aspect ration and a quad camera setup. You did not read that wrongly –  this smartphone has a total of 4 cameras and they are all amazing.

On the front is a 3D curved screen glass and above that are the 8MP + 2MP cameras. The back plays house to not only the dual 13MP + 2MP sensors but a fingerprint sensor for added security. If we haven’t mentioned this already, now might be a good time to let you know that the smartphone is nearly bezel-less too.

Powered by the kind of octa-core processor that gives you as much as 1.5GHz in clock speed, the S8 brings a 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM configuration on board. Running Nougat 7.0 out of the box, the device will pull its power from a decent 2940mAh battery.

What to do with your Old Tech Devices

$
0
0

As important as our devices are to us, one of the biggest questions we can have is what to do with our old, outdated computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. According to Gartner research company, nearly 1.9 billion cellphones were turned in throughout 2015, which averages out to nearly one in every four people. Unfortunately, once a device no longer works efficiently, it turns into electronic waste, which can pose a serious problem.

According to the United Nations, in 2014, nearly 41.8 million tons of electronic waste was gotten rid of. However, only 40 percent of it was actually disposed of properly. However, consumers can improve the way they recycle their e-waste. Fortunately, most electronic materials can be recycled and reused. Other materials, such as mercury and lead, must be properly disposed of. To help get you started on properly recycling your old tech devices, here are a few ways you can dispose of your e-waste.

Sell Them for Cash

One of the best ways to get rid of your old devices is to sell them online. However, the amount of money you end up making entirely depends on how much money you’re willing to put into your e-waste. Fortunately, selling it on eBay or Amazon is the best way to get the most money, but there are occasional flaky buyers.

Trade Them for Credit

Besides selling your old devices, another great way to make the most of your e-waste is to trade it for credit. Fortunately, most electronic retailers have trade-in programs that offer in-store credit for future purchases. However, the first thing you should do is review what kind of prices people are offering for your device, to ensure you’re getting the best deal. To trade in your device, you can use Apple, T-Mobile, Verizon, and even Amazon for store credit.

Bring Them to a Recycler

Communities and nonprofit organizations usually have ways you can recycle your old electronics. For example, Call2Recycle has drop-off locations that accept cell phones and rechargeable batteries across the United States. TIA E-cycling Central also has recycling events across the nation, with a clickable map on their site for other local recycling opportunities.

Slow data transferring speed can be very annoying at times especially if you have to transfer the data to and from the external drive quite often. Like it can be very troublesome to wait for 10 to 15 minutes for your files to move from one place to another especially if you are getting late for a meeting or a conference etc. Now if you are someone who is tired of this slow speed, then you are at the right place, reading the correct article. Today we are going to jot down a few ways through which you can optimize and improve the data transfer speed.

So, folks take notes of what we are about to tell you because this article can be handy for you in the long run.

1. Set Your USB Drive To Better Performance

You see the default setting of Windows for data transfer is set on the option of “Quick removal”, in this case, what actually happens is that it disables writing cache which ultimately slows down the speed of transfer, but on the other hand, with it you can safely disconnect your device once the data has been transferred. Now what you have to do is to shift from “Quick Removal” to “Better Performance” in the settings and also look for the “write caching on device” option and enable it to optimize and improve the speed of data transfer.

2. Upgrade To USB 3.0 / 3.1

You might know about the difference between USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 type C, and if you do know all about it, then you also would know that USB 3.0 and 3.1 are the latest USB standard that was released years ago yet many of the people are using USB 2.0 just because it is cheaper than the 3.0 one. Now this is where you will have to make a little sacrifice and if you feel like your work demands a lot of data transferring tasks from PC to or from external drive then you definitely should get yourself a USB 3.0 because believe it or not, that will make a big difference in all of the transferring speed.

3. Change The File System

Not many know about it that the file system that is being used to format your device can have a severe and significant impact on the performance and the speed of data transfer. Now what happens is that the conservative format locates the data into tiny chunks and that is precisely where the problem begins. The smaller the chunks of the data are, the slower the transfer process will be, and to improve the speed you will have to increase the size of the chunks, and for that, you need to change the file system and the formatting.

These are the few tips that can help you increase the speed of your data transfer to and from your external drive. Follow the tips mentioned above and try different ways to fix this issue and we assure you that you will have positive results.
